VENUE:    The Noble Hotel and Conference Centre in Eldoret is three kilometers from the city centre. They have modern conference facilities and a beautiful environment.

ACCOMMODATION: Eldoret is full of hotels that can suit one’s budget. We highly recommend The Noble Hotel for your convenience if you can afford it. The Association has negotiated for those who will stay at the Noble hotel to pay Kenya Shillings 4,800 for half board. However, you can choose from other hotels in Eldoret. The range of charges for accommodation per night in Eldoret ranges between Kenya Shillings 1000 to 5000. If you need assistance you are advised to contact the secretariat through email at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

VISA:   International participants are advised to contact their local Kenyan Embassy early enough to avoid visa problems. Take note that most airlines insist on visas before allowing passengers to board. Visas can be given at the airport but only in very special cases, so ensure you get your visa before travel.

  1. It is your responsibility to ensure you have appropriate insurance cover and the necessary vaccinations
  2. Yellow Fever is necessary for delegates from most countries. Enquire about the necessary vaccinations for Kenya well in advance. It differs with countries

AIRPORT TRANSFERS:    The Eldoret airport is about 20 - 30 minutes drive to the Noble hotel depending on the traffic. The cost of a taxi varies between US $ 25 – 30 depending on the taxi you take. Taxis are many at the airport. Those who have arranged with hotels for airport transfer will be charged as per the hotel rate.

CURRENCY CONVERSION:    There are many banks and bureaus at the airport to facilitate quick currency conversion. There are also bureaus in town with better rates. Avoid converting money through middle men on the streets.

SECURITY:    The venue of the conference will be outside the city centre which is fairly secure but like any metropolitan cities, take care of your valuables while walking in town and avoid talking or listening to people you do not know.

WEATHER:     We have no winters in Kenya but Eldoret is cold. You could experience chilly mornings and evenings. Bring along a warm sweater. We advise that you check on weather forecast online before travelling.

We look forward to welcoming you in Eldoret.
